<p><span id="more-308"></span>and <strong>coffee </strong>- via workers' stories at each stage of the production chain.</p>
<p>The <strong>radio program</strong> gives a clear insight in how <strong><em>unfair</em></strong> trade still can be, around common goods like coffee &#038; cotton. "The cheap white t-shirt is a staple in many people's wardrobes, but what is the real cost of this bargain?â€</p>
<p>To find out, the programme followed the journeys of goods <strong>from the farm to the shop floor</strong>, to track back the real costs of cheap cotton.</p>
<p>"As shoppers consume ever larger amounts of clothing, are they really taking into account the cost paid by workers back down the production chain?â€</p>
<p>On the way we are guided by <strong>industry experts</strong>. They make clear to the listeners how surprising it still is, most consumers don't really think about the background of their products, despite globalisation. â€œWhen they start thinking, they do learnâ€.</p>

The way it's produced, is ultimately gonna cost someone somewhere. Cost in human lives, cost in misery, community and environmental degradation. And down the line, we are all gonna feel that costs...â€.</p>

They encourage the dialogue amongst a growing audience!</p>

<p>Oops, the results that stayed way below the <strong>expectations</strong>, were certainly a bummer. But the brand name Kuyichi was dropped several times by the Dutch consumers, showing their <strong>respect </strong>for the <strong>mission of the brand</strong>.</p>
<p>And their responds were pretty clear: <strong>Kuyichi </strong>is well-known for it's <strong>conscious approach</strong> to <strong>modern expectations </strong>of <strong>socially aware </strong>consumers! That's a clear statement, which makes us very proud!<br />

The car is called "<strong>c,mm,n</strong>", and has a <a target="_blank" href="http://www.autoindetoekomst.nl/website/">website</a> (Dutch only). It's conceived by the <a target="_blank" href="http://www.snm.nl/page.php?pageID=35"><strong>Netherlands Society for Nature and the Environment</strong></a> (or "Stichting Natuur en Milieu") and <strong>technical universities</strong> of Delft, Eindhoven and Enschede.</p>

As from today, you can support the campaign as well, by styling yourself with a <strong>ONE T-shirt</strong>!</p>
<p align="left"><strong>Nukuhiva</strong>, the right store for <strong>conscious_style_lovers</strong>, just launched the new range of <strong>ONE T-shirts</strong>, exclusively available for the <strong>Netherlands</strong>, at <strong>Nukuhiva</strong>!</p>
<p align="left">The green queen behind the T-shirts, is <strong>EDUN</strong>'s initiator <a target="_blank" href="http://www.kuyichi.com/kuyichi/?p=189"><strong>Ali Hewson</strong></a>.<br />
On the 22nd of March Ali Hewson came to Amsterdam, to attend the Dutch introduction of her ONE T-shirts.<br />
The <a target="_blank" href="http://www.umojarestaurant.nl/one.php">launch </a>took place in the "honest" restaurant by the Dutch pop band <strong>BlÃ¸f</strong>.</p>
<p align="left">And to raise more attention for the campaign, <strong>Floortje </strong>invited 15 <strong>Dutch </strong>celebrities, to style themselves for the camera!<br />
The photo's will be published in the <strong>May edition </strong>of fashion magazine <strong>AvantGarde</strong>. Then the photo's will be <strong>auctioned</strong>, to benefit the ONE Campaign.</p>
<p align="left">The ONE T-shirts are available in <strong>black </strong>and <strong>white</strong>, and a fair share of the retail price is being donated to the <strong>ALAFA fund</strong>, to fight AIDS in Lesotho (SA). Worldwide, over <strong>20 000 T-shirts</strong> have already been sold.<br />

<strong>We're celebrating again! </strong>2007 seems to become a good year for us, for all of us! Yes indeed, as we keep <strong>congratulating </strong>new initiatives that join us, in the <strong>Organic_Revolution</strong>!</p>
<p>The <strong>GAP</strong> becomes slightly smaller between our leading role as pioneer in the <strong>organic revolution</strong> for denim wear, and new initiatives from other big brands (like <a target="_blank" title="H&#038;M goed organic" href="http://www.kuyichi.com/kuyichi/?p=162">H&#038;M</a>, <a target="_blank" title="Levi's goes organic" href="http://www.kuyichi.com/kuyichi/?p=166">Levi's</a>, Nike). Last week, it was <strong>GAP </strong>that released it's announcement of debuting <strong>organic cotton t-shirts</strong>. Only for men, and only available at 500+ USA stores, so far.</p>
<p><img align="left" alt="GAP" id="image194" src="http://www.kuyichi.com/kuyichi/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/gap_organic_cotton.jpg" /><strong>GAP </strong>decided to introduce the first organic cotton T-shirts "in response to <strong>growing customer demand</strong> and as part of the company's commitment to finding innovative, socially responsible ways to make its products," as they said in their <a target="_blank" href="http://www.gapinc.com/public/Media/Press_Releases/med_pr_OrganicT032107.shtml">press release</a>.<br />
New styles for their <strong>organic revolution</strong> are in the pipeline for upcoming seasons. A very good addition to their participation in <strong>Bono's <a target="_blank" href="http://www.kuyichi.com/kuyichi/?p=89">Join(RED)</a> campaign!</strong></p>
<p>Now we're only waiting for <strong>GAP </strong>&#038; the <strong>others</strong>, to start producing <a target="_blank" href="http://www.kuyichi.com/kuyichi/?page_id=49"><strong>fair trade</strong></a>, since an <strong>organic label</strong> doesn't automatically means a <strong>fair trade </strong>share for all people involved, in the production process...</p>
