Kuyichi was founded in 2001 to introduce organic cotton and fair trade jeans wear. We were 1st for organic. Kuyichi stands apart from most other fashion brands, since we manufacture pure, organic & fair trade. We create jeans & fashion with a super cool, sexy and street wise look & feel. Put together in respect to the people we work with. It is what we call Style Conscious.
A conscious approach is more real to us. Being fair. Being real. It’s our philosophy.

The circle symbolizes the world, while the plus sign indicates positivity, adding and giving.

The name Kuyichi derives from the Peruvian god of the rainbow. According to the legend, the rainbow god of the Taquile Indians became angry with the people and took all colours away from life.
After introducing and perfecting the art of weaving beautiful blankets, the Indians brought back the colours of the rainbow to the world. The brand Kuyichi has adopted this positivism from the Taquile Indians, to challenge a new generation with our pure and organic designs.

Kuyichi's mission is to be an innovative & global brand that designs, produces & distributes organic & fair trade jeans and fashion. We showcase our Style Conscious concept to other brands: fair trade can be commercially successful, in respect to style, quality & dignity.
Our vision in fashion is integrated, but not compromised by our aim to stimulate durable economies. It is based on two conscious principles: we strive for organic jeans & fashion, put together in a chain of fair trade.
Innovative design is as important to us, as social equity for the people & environment involved.
From the land the fibres are grown, to the shops the jeans are sold.
We rise to the challenge of developing organic materials and ecological processes with contemporary and cutting edge styling. In respect to our mission, we integrate social & environmental awareness in our production process, while keeping a strong focus on high quality.
Since Kuyichi was pioneer to integrate the combination of organic garments production with fair trade principles, we have helped setting up and improving certification standards. Now we continue in helping other brands to follow the same principles. We show the industry, as well as consumers, it is not difficult to trade fair. It is a belief.
We find it strange our vision still differs from most other fashion brands.
We want more fashion brands to become more environmentally and socially aware and we are happy to see that more and more brands join the organic revolution!
The Taquile Indians call our planet 'mother earth'. They say one will take good care of his mother, without thoughtlessly exploit or looting. We share this vision, and strive for 100% use of organic cotton in the near future.
