"Once in a while, I can be critical about my job, or at least of parts of it. Yet sometimes, it is nothing short of amazing. A trip to Barcelona this weekend reminded me of the beautiful parts of this job. There I was in my too fancy room, which was super trendy and mega-cool. There I found a bouquet of flowers, intimidatingly large. How large can a bouquet of flower be, you think? Let me illustrate: it had pineapples in it, and they were looking small. It was the first time I was looking at an assortment of flowers, and I wasn't sure if I should look at it or try to eat it". Read the rest of this entry »

Buy a pair of Kuyichi jeans, end up in Peru! Our winners will visit The Kuychi Charity in Urubamba, which was created in 2003 to support Heléna van Engelen’s "Niños del Arco Iris" project in Peru. Heléna changed the course of her life by putting it to the service of the forgotten children of Peru. She went to Urubamba at the end of 2001 to build a centre in the Valley of the Saints near Cusco where deprived children from the surrounding communities can live and learn. The central point of her mission is to give these children a home and a future. The name of the project and of the Charity refers to the Rainbow: "Arco Iris" in Spanish and "Kuychi" in Quechua, the ancient Indian language still spoken in the Andes. The winners will stay in one of the little rainbow houses of Kuychi Charity. Beautiful!
